Traditional Weekend Camping Menu

Summer break is starting to wind down for our kids. We have registration this week and school starts next week! I’m glad to know that doesn’t mean we will stop camping though, that would be a tragedy. So this week before we start school we’ll be heading up to the mountains for a little break from the heat and enjoying a traditional kind of camping weekend. Fishing, s’mores, campfires, and spooky stories. For that reason, I am sharing a traditional camping menu, not from any specific time frame, but traditional for our family.

If you haven’t heard about our Weekend Camping Menu Series I invite you to check it out because this summer I have decided I want you to take a break and spend more time with your family and less time stressing about what to make to feed your crowd. So I have created 15 different weekend camping menus. All you need to do is make your grocery list and shop. If you don’t like one of my ideas, that’s not a problem, I’ve left you plenty of room to scratch it out and write in your own meal.

I’m sharing with you a variety of meal plans that range from traditional camping food to nutrition restrictions like Keto to super simple no stress meals. Some menus focus on getting the most out of a single cooking tool like an Instant Pot or Blackstone griddle while most use your whole RV kitchen. And there’s even one just for tent campers with limited resources like a fridge.

The best part is that it’s all customizable for your family - I give you a basic meal idea like grilled smoked sausage served with BBQ sauce and a side of roasted potatoes and now you can customize it with your families favorite BBQ sauce, grandpa’s famous roasted potatoes and if you want you can even add a salad to your meal.

And if there’s a chance that you haven’t heard of my meal idea, I’ve made sure that you can easily Google search it and find a recipe. You never know, it may become a new family favorite!

Each menu plan has four breakfasts, four lunches, four afternoon snacks, and three dinners. It’s a full Friday-Monday meal plan to rely on each and every weekend. Friday night dinners were designed to be more simple to allow setup time at camp and Monday breakfasts are easier than the others since you’ll be packing up. Most lunches can be packed up and eaten wherever you are exploring. The best part is there are very few repeats between all the weeks!

My hope is that your whole family enjoys these meals, but most importantly the time spent together while getting some fresh air.
