We have had a few questions about our pictures on the blog - whether they're stock photos or our own. Especially in our inspirational quote photos. Well every picture you see is ours. They're our memories. Memories of our travels, memories of fun times, memories of our family, memories of challenges, memories of freedom, memories of peace, and memories that we never want to forget.
Our side bar picture and the theme of our blog has garnered the most questions. This was taken in Roxborough State Park here in Colorado. An often overlooked state park in South Denver. If you're in the area we suggest a short day hike, you won't be sorry.
The memories of that day will always be with us. We spent hours on this trail - taking pictures, laughing, and having fun. It was a beautiful summer day. We stopped to take a break and right after I took the picture below, I set the camera down on the bench to drink some water and that adorable 13 month old grabbed the camera and slammed it on the bench. Two upset (at ourselves) parents walked off the hike that day. The camera was only 6 months old and we didn't have the money to replace it. Later that day we got home and viewed the pictures on the computer and even though we were still frustrated we couldn't help but smile at the pictures of the adorable camera breaker. The camera (our favorite to this day) was unusable after that because the LCD display was also the viewfinder and the repair would have cost as much as the camera. But we still have the pictures, the memories, and look back now on a fun day spent together enjoying God's creation.
